Aircraft charter specialist Chapman Freeborn is launching into the private jet membership sector. The program, which is live, is designed to offer price transparency and convenience to travelers who frequently charter private jets and encompasses over 2,500 aircraft worldwide.
How does it work?
In contrast to other jet membership and semi-private schemes, the incoming Chapman Freeborn Jet members lay down a $100,000 deposit, from which funds are deducted as travel occurs. This eliminates the need to draw contracts for every flight and removes the need for credit card authorization holds and additional fees.
Members immediately receive access to over 2,500 private jets from third-party operators, a dedicated advisor, 24/7 access to the Chapman Freeborn Client Services team, and live flight tracking updates. David McCown, President of Americas at Chapman Freeborn, highlighted the streamlined nature of the new membership service:
“We are delighted to bring the Chapman Freeborn Jet Membership Program to market. Experienced users of business jet travel understand that on-demand charter is the most cost-effective way to fly private, as well as to achieve the most tailored experience.
“Private flyers are tired of paying too much for category-based cookie-cutter programs that limit their experience with black-out dates, annual usage limits and geographic boundaries.”

The flights are quoted, including airport fees, landing fees, taxes, and fuel. Additional services such as de-icing, catering, and ground transportation are not included.
Why Chapman Freeborn?
The Avia Solutions Group has over 50 years of private jet charter expertise and has invested significantly in the business aviation segment this year. Through the growth of its sales team and offices throughout the United States and other initiatives, it noticed a significant rise in customer demand for a membership program, leading to this announcement.
In addition to the newly announced program, Chapman Freeborn has a long history of charter flights. Since pioneering its first operation supporting David Bowie’s Glass Spider Tour in 1987, the company has expanded into concert and film promotional tours, medical evacuation flights, and cargo operations. According to McCown, this is only the next step in a more expansive program to make travel more accessible:
“The Chapman Freeborn Jet Membership program provides an even easier means to access the most tailored, cost-effective way to fly private, anywhere in the world. The introduction of this program is one of many steps Chapman Freeborn will be making as part of its commitment to become a leader in the private aviation market, globally.”
