BBN Airlines Nordic (formerly Bluebird Nordic) (Keflavik and Cologne/Bonn) ceased all cargo operations on April 30, 2024 and returned all of its aircraft to the lessors.
The airline issued this statement:
“Bluebird Nordic has voluntarily surrendered its Air Operator’s Certificate to the Icelandic Civil Aviation Administration,”
Bluebird Nordic was established in 1999 by a group of local businesses and individuals with a solid background in aviation and airfreight.
Bluebird Nordic operated a fleet of nine freighter aircraft, one Boeing 737-300, seven Boeing 737-400s and one Boeing 737-800.
The airline held EASA AOC issued by the Icelandic CAA.
