Neo Space Group (NSG), a Public Investment Fund (PIF) global space services company, has joined forces with a global satellite communications operator SES, to bring the SES Open Orbits™ Inflight Connectivity network to the international airlines market.
SES Open Orbits™ is an advanced open architecture Ka-band network that allows satellite assets from multiple operators and different orbits to be added to increase coverage and capacity as and when needed. The network will give airlines unprecedented connectivity around the world to address the rapidly growing demand for inflight connectivity.
Through this partnership, NSG will access the network and will offer a holistic solution to the airline market packaged with the Skywaves® managed services platform, a tailored traffic management platform with the ability to intelligently switch traffic from one interoperable network to another through the latest in cloud technology. NSG will also offer SkyFly, a state-of-the-art end user portal that will enable a range of services for passengers at the touch of a button during flights. This offer will enable airlines to provide passengers with seamless connectivity and digital services. NSG is already supporting on a significant ongoing retrofit program with a major carrier and will be able to deliver services by early 2025, subject to obtaining the relevant licenses and approvals.
