Abu Dhabi: Etihad Cargo, the cargo and logistics division of Etihad Airways, has expanded its partnership with China’s SF Airlines.

The partnership aims to increase the frequency of flights between their major hubs in Abu Dhabi and Ezhou. In addition, Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines will introduce a new freighter service between Shenzhen and Abu Dhabi.

The new freighter service signifies a major move to enhance cargo connectivity and capacity between China, the UAE, and other global destinations.

Stanislas Brun, Vice President Cargo of Etihad Cargo, commented that, “By expanding this strategic partnership with SF Airlines, Etihad Cargo’s partners and customers will have greater access to strategic markets in China, the UAE, and destinations across Etihad’s global network. This ongoing collaboration will contribute to the broader economic and strategic objectives of both the UAE and China.”

Starting from 15th July 2024, Etihad Cargo will operate two freighters between Abu Dhabi and Ezhou. This service will connect China to its global network through Abu Dhabi. SF Airlines will operate additional freighters from Ezhou, making the total number of flights between Abu Dhabi and Ezhou five per week.

Robert Zhang, Commercial Director of SF Airlines, remarked that, “We are excited to announce that the cooperated routes between Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines will expand to six flights per week starting in July, as our two companies celebrate the first anniversary of our partnership.”

The enhanced frequency of flights between Ezhou and Abu Dhabi and the introduction of new flights from Shenzhen to Abu Dhabi will increase cargo capacity by more than 200 tones per week. The partnership will together offer a total weekly capacity of 630 tones, thereby facilitating smoother trade.
