The United States Air Force (USAF) has unveiled its list of military aircraft due to make an appearance at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024. Favorites like the C-130J Super Hercules and F-35A Lightning II will be on static display, while some aircraft, including the B-52 Stratofortress, are due to perform a flypast.

Simple Flying will be delivering extensive coverage of the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, which starts in less than two weeks’ time on July 22nd. One of the show’s main attractions, at least from the military side, will be the United States Air Force and its diverse fleet of aircraft.

Static

The Air Force will have four of its aircraft on static display, the largest being the C-130 Super Hercules transport. USAF displays will include:

  • C-130J Super Hercules
  • F-16M Fighting Falcon
  • F-35A Lightning II
  • MQ-9 Reaper

Flypast

Three USAF planes will make a flypast during the airshow, including two separate days for the giant B-52H Stratofortress:

  • B-52H Stratofortress – 24th and 26th July
  • F-15E Strike Eagle – 22nd July
  • F-35A Lightning II – 22nd July

The exact time of each flypast is still to be confirmed, so keep your eyes peeled in the days leading up to the show.

US Army

There will also be plenty of military choppers on display this year, with the US Army showcasing three of its helicopters:

  • AH-64E Apache
  • CH-47F Chinook
  • UH-60V Black Hawk

Other military displays at Farnborough

Military aviation enthusiasts can look forward to a fantastic lineup of military planes this year. This will include several from the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF), including flypasts by the Eurofighter Typhoon, F-35 and A330 MRTT, and one of its Airbus A400M’s on display. The RAF has used its A400M fleet on some interesting missions, including a 22-hour non-stop flight (with the help of aerial refueling) from RAF Brize Norton all the way to Guam.

The famous ‘Red Devils’ RAF Parachute Display Team will be performing on two different days, 22nd and 26th July, while the ‘RAF Falcons’ will take to the skies on 25th and 26th July. Brazilian manufacturer Embraer will have static displays of its popular A-29 Super Tucano and C-390 Millennium, as well as a flypast by the latter.

Other notable displays include Turkish Aerospace’s Hürjet, due also to perform flypasts on four different days; a Spitfire flypast on 26th July; and the Danish Royal Air Force (RDAF) making its debut with F-16 demonstrations.
