Summary
- JetBlue will no longer fly to Burbank, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Palm Springs, Pointe-à-Pitre, San Antonio, or Tallahassee.
- The Florida capital, Tallahassee, only welcomed the airline in January 2024.
- The cuts come after six+ other airports were recently removed.
JetBlue’s woes are well documented. Broadly, the carrier lost its way over the past half-decade, during which Robin Hayes was CEO. It incurred significant costs related to the ill-fated Spirit merger, its Northwest Alliance with American was wound down, and multiple aircraft were grounded.
Amid JetBlue’s financial tailspin, Joanna Geraghty became CEO, and Marty St. George became president again. As part of this, the airline continues to make many changes, including to its route map. By using freed-up equipment and slots, it attempts to shore up its future by refocusing on the markets in which it believes it can win and the passengers to whom its proposition is strong.

Seven more airports have been cut
The following table details them. They include Charlotte and Minneapolis, perhaps further proof of JetBlue shifting from targeting road warriors that the US Big 3, American, Delta, and United, are in a better position to carry. But JetBlue is tiny at both airports: it only has one route at each and an uncompetitive daily and 10 weekly operation.

Several airports only recently joined JetBlue’s network. They include Tallahassee, served from Fort Lauderdale since January 2024. JetBlue’s exit from Florida’s capital leaves ATR-operating Silver Airways on the 341-nautical mile (632 km) airport pair, plus American to Miami.
The latest cuts follow others recently, such as Bogotá, Kansas City, Lima, Quito, Puerto Vallarta, and Stewart.

Three airport additions
While the above airport cuts are notable, so are the additions, although some were previously disclosed. On September 5, JetBlue will begin flying from Boston to Presque Isle on the Embraer E190 (shown below). The Essential Air Service funds it.
Long Island will join its network in late October, with routes to Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, and West Palm Beach in late October. Manchester (New Hampshire) will materialize in January 2025, with Fort Myers, Orlando, and West Palm Beach linked.
