The airport has come a long way since its opening 60 years ago.
What’s great about this lounge is that walk-ins are accepted. So, if you aren’t a frequent flyer or flying in a premium cabin on Turkish Airlines (or any of the 16 other airlines), you can purchase a day pass to enjoy the lounge, per Washington Dulles International Airport.
Also situated in Concourse B is the Lufthansa Business Lounge. Access is shared with Air China, ANA, Austrian, Avianca, Brussels, Ethiopian, and United. While the lounge accepts Priority Pass members, it also offers a day pass (from $39 – pre-book online) for passengers flying on any airline.
In Concourse A, the newly revamped Etihad Lounge (in collaboration with Chase) offers one complimentary entry per calendar year for Priority Pass members. A day pass can also be purchased for $100 per passenger on any airline.
United Club Lounge at IAD
When it comes to airline lounges at IAD, United Airlines dominates the scene with a total of four lounges. At the C and D concourses, there are three United Club Lounges: next to Gates C4, C7, and D8. There is also a United Polaris Lounge near Gate C17 (more on this later).
The United Club Lounges are open to its members and premium cabin passengers flying with any Star Alliance airline. Access is also offered to Air Canada Maple Leaf Club and Virgin Australia Velocity members with elite status.

For those who do not fall into any of these categories, the good news is that – like with the other lounges we have covered so far – you can purchase a one-time day pass to enter any of the three United Club Lounges, at just $59. It’s worth noting that the lounge does not offer a wide variety of meals, but instead, provides light snacks and a full-service bar.
Non-airline lounges at IAD
There are two non-airline-operated lounges at IAD, which can be accessed by passengers who do not have premium boarding passes or frequent flyer status. Both of these can be found in the main terminal.

Another non-airline lounge is the United Service Organizations (USO) Lounge, which provides access to active-duty, reserve, or retired military personnel and their families. Unfortunately, no elite status, credit card, or payment will get you entry to the USO Lounge unless you are in the US armed forces. If you do have a valid military ID, however, you can access not only the USO Lounge, but also any United Club Lounge at IAD.
IAD’s exclusive lounges for frequent flyers and/or members only
In the luxurious world of exclusive airline lounges, there are four lounges in IAD that are only open to premium cabin passengers and frequent flyers with elite status. A Priority Pass membership may get you access to some of these lounges, but restrictions apply.
In Concourse A, next to Gate A19, the Air France–KLM Lounge offers all the wonders of a high-end lounge, complete with a buffet spread of meals, drinks, and snacks, as well as a bar. This lounge has shared access with Emirates, Korean Air, Iceland Air, and certain SkyTeam partner airlines. Entry is only available to premium cabin passengers, frequent flyers, and SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers. Priority Pass members can enjoy the lounge, too, but only for a maximum stay of three hours.
