Twenty four Boeing 787-8 and -9 Dreamliners of LATAM Airlines Group will see their current internal layout fully replaced. These upgrades are being performed in Santiago, Chile and São Carlos, Brazil, taking between two and four months per aircraft depending on the amount of work.

As regards the upgraded interiors, the Premium Business class will receive the new R7 seats from Recaro Aircraft Seating, which are the first in any South American airline that have doors for more privacy. Economy and Premium Economy users will also benefit from the upgrade, using new ergonomic seats with more space, employing recycled leather from Gen Phoenix.  

In the case of Economy class, the passengers will also have in-flight entertainment using Bluetooth, allowing them with music, movies, TV programming and exclusive content from Max, Paramount+ and Disney+, using 12″ HD touch screens. Also included are the interactive maps from Panasonic’s Arc™.

Ten airliners  are considered of the 787-8 variants (operating from Chile) and fourteen 787-9 (that fly from Chile, Perú and Brazil); the first upgraded aircraft will be from the -8 variant, returning to service by the first semester of 2025.
