Delta Air Lines
will fly from nine hubs and focus cities to Europe next summer, as shown below. That is down from 10 in summer 2024 as KLM will replace fellow SkyTeam and transatlantic joint venture partner Delta to Portland.

As of September 25, but subject to change, Delta plans 75 European routes in July 2025 (up from 71 in July 2024). There are 672 weekly take-offs each way (up from 643), an average of 96 daily.

Naturally, JFK is the airport with the most service. Delta plans 26 routes next summer, the same as this summer. While Munich flights end, Catania’s first-ever US service begins.

Atlanta has 17 routes, up by one year-on-year. Naples is coming, and Brussels is returning, but Stuttgart flights are ending. However, Cirium data indicates that routes are down from 24 in July 2008. Atlanta has not had more than 16 July routes since 2011.

They are as follows, with frequencies and equipment potentially different at other times and always subject to change. Only Delta’s flights are included, not other SkyTeam or joint-venture members.

Where Atlanta passengers went

Booking data suggests that approximately 340,000 passengers flew on Delta’s European flights in July 2024, with 93% of seats filled. This figure includes everyone, as shown below. Naturally, the third and fourth categories had relatively few passengers.

  • Point-to-point (London Heathrow was the most popular market)
  • Those who transited over Atlanta (see below)
  • Those who connected at SkyTeam hubs in Europe (Atlanta to/from Delhi was number one, with passengers transferring in London Heathrow, Paris CDG, and Amsterdam in that order)
  • Those who connected in both Atlanta and Europe (Nashville-Atlanta-Rome/Paris CDG-Cairo was first)

The top 10 origins and destinations: July 2024

Obviously, most passengers (around six in 10) connected to another flight in Atlanta. Some 80 origins and destinations had at least 10 passengers daily, with the top 10 shown below. While Rome appears three times, it accounts for six of the top 20 entries. Unsurprisingly, Delta will have 17 weekly Atlanta-Rome flights next July (up to three daily).
