As part of its “FlyPink” campaign, Condor Airlines
unveiled a specially painted pink Airbus A320 as a powerful demonstration of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The German leisure airline’s program seeks to raise awareness about breast cancer and exhibit sympathy with individuals impacted by the disease. The eye-catching pink striped livery will be visible throughout October, symbolizing Condor’s commitment to this important cause.
The “FlyPink” initiative originated in 2015 within the aviation industry, encouraging airlines and aviation professionals to promote breast cancer awareness. Condor has been a part of this expanding trend and is recognized for the bright livery of the Airbus A320
“FlyPink,” registered as D-AICS. The maiden flight took off on October 1 from Frankfurt Airport
(FRA) to Lanzarote (ACE) in the Canary Islands.

Vibrant pink and white stripes are painted on the fuselage, and the engines also have pink ribbons. Pink is also used throughout the cabin of the FlyPink Plane, such as on headrest coverings and unique “safety cards” that give specific information on breast cancer prevention.
With its design, Condor hopes to make a strong impression on travelers, airport goers, and the aviation community at large. In a statement, the company said that FlyPink Plane will not only draw attention but also send a message to the world about Condor’s desire to prevent breast cancer, show support for those who are impacted, and raise money for Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. to help the organization, especially with research.
Condor’s COO Christian Schmitt said:
“The presentation of our FlyPink Plane makes me particularly proud, because the support for FlyPink originated from our employees many years ago. Since then, our crews have expressed their support every year by wearing pink uniform accessories. From now on, we are literally taking this commitment to new heights, making another strong statement with our FlyPink Plane and offering a platform to organizations like Brustkrebs Deutschland e.V. in the important fight against breast cancer.”
In addition to the special aircraft livery, Condor cabin crew will wear pink scarves and ties throughout the month of October as a visual reminder of the airline’s support for the cause. This added detail ensures that every aspect of the airline’s service reflects their dedication to raising awareness.
Through the official Condor website, travelers may also contribute to the cause by buying products with a pink theme. Beach towels, folding umbrellas, water bottles, flying safety bags, and office supplies such as pencils, notepads, and lanyards are all available.
FlyPink is a non-profit organization founded by QantasLink (QF) pilots in 2015. Since then, the initiative has collaborated with the famous National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) and contributes to many local breast cancer charities across the globe.
Over time, many airlines have joined the effort, painting their aircraft pink and getting their crews involved in spreading awareness. These airlines include Qantas
, Alaska Airlines
, Delta Air Lines
, Porter Airlines
and more. Such initiatives demonstrate the aviation industry’s ability to come together for a shared goal and spread important messages worldwide.
