Everybody wants to get into the airport lounge, and for good reason: it provides quiet from the hustle and bustle of the airport and allows you to relax, unwind and maybe get a little work done.
Of all the lounges, the Delta Sky Club is one of the most well-known and commonly found, with over 50 locations worldwide. With more and more people seeking lounge access, Delta Air Lines and other carriers are clamping down hard on how many and who can get into the lounge. The bottom line is you can get into the Sky Club, but you have to be willing to pay for it or fly enough to earn status. Here are some specifics on how you can gain entrance to the oasis that is Delta Sky Club.

What’s Your Preferred Way To Access Airport Lounges?
There are a multitude of ways to get into an airport lounge. The first, and probably best way, is to fly in a premium cabin with the airline. This gets you free access to a lounge before your flight and, in some cases, after you land as well.
Then, of course, you can work your way up to getting a status tier with your favorite airline or alliance that grants you lounge access as a perk. As someone who often flies with non-allied low-cost airlines, this isn’t a plausible option for me.
Finally, you can pay for access in a number of ways. You could take out a premium credit card such as AmEx, which offers airport lounges to its holders. You could purchase a Priority Pass to give you a number of visits per year. Finally, you could just pay on the door to get in on the day.
For me, I’ve always used Priority Pass to access lounges, but have become frustrated in recent months that these lounges tend to be full. Priority Pass gets you into the ‘chain’ lounges – No 1, Aspire etc – which are
Buy a premium cabin ticket
Not just any premium ticket will do the job. It has to be a Delta One fare (which means you’re flying international or on a long-haul domestic flight). This is probably the most obvious way to get into the Delta Sky Club, since admission is included in your fare.
If you’re traveling on one of Delta’s SkyTeam Alliance partner airlines, you can get in only if you’re traveling internationally in first or business class for all segments of your flight. It’s worth noting that if you’re flying from LAX or JFK on a Delta One ticket you should opt instead for the Delta One Lounge, a much more exclusive and upgraded lounge experience only available to Delta One passengers.
Sign up for a credit card that includes it
Right now, the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card includes complimentary access to the Delta Sky Club plus four one-time guest passes each year. Be warned of coming changes though: In 2025, Delta is limiting visits to 15 times a year unless you meet a minimum card spend of $75,000 a year.
If you don’t meet the card spend and use all of your visits, you can still access the lounge for $50 each time using your Amex card. Other American Express Cards that include Sky Club access include the Platinum Card and the Centurion Card (commonly known as the Black Card).

Fly internationally with Delta status
If you are flying internationally in first class, or Premium Select and hold Gold Medallion status or higher with Delta, you automatically get entrance to the Sky Club. Note that this only works for the aforementioned fares. Not all is lost for economy travelers with status. If you hold Gold status or higher and are flying international economy, you can still get into Delta partner-operated lounges or SkyTeam airline lounges.

Fly business class with LATAM
If you’re flying with LATAM in business class, you’re in luck. Your ticket comes with Sky Club access. Unfortunately, you’re unable to take a guest with this method. Notably, Delta and LATAM signed a joint venture that was approved in 2022, increasing passenger connectivity and amenities for the two airlines across over 300 destinations throughout the Americas.

Fly internationally with SkyTeam Elite Plus status
If you have SkyTeam Elite Plus status, you can visit the Sky Club if you are flying internationally, regardless of your fare. Also, Sky Team Elite Plus members are allowed lounge access regardless of what cabin they are flying in.
