Airline crew under investigation for recording passengers in ‘intimate act’

ZURICH (WKRC) – An airline was investigating crew members after a video of two passengers engaging in intimate acts on a flight surfaced on social media.

A spokesperson for Swiss International Air Lines told Business Insider that the incident occurred on a Nov. 29 flight from Bangkok to Zurich. The passengers were in the front galley of a Boeing 777 near the flight deck, where planes typically have cameras that allow pilots and crew members to monitor footage from the cockpit.

The airline said a crew member apparently used a phone to record the couple from a monitor on the flight deck, according to Business Insider. The footage began circulating on WhatsApp and was obtained by the Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten, which first reported the story.

Swiss International Air Lines expressed disapproval of the crew’s actions, stating it expected them to intervene immediately rather than film the passengers.

“Filming people without their clear consent and sharing these recordings is contrary to our guidelines and values,” the spokesperson said to Business Insider.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, the airline plans to increase employee education and training.
