New nonstop flights between Seattle, Tokyo and Seoul

Flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita will begin running daily on May 12, 2025. Flights between Seattle and Seoul will begin in October.

SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines is expanding its offerings of nonstop flights through its partnership with Hawaiian Air, adding direct flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita, and Seattle and Seoul Incheon planned to start next year.

The company announced the added flights on Tuesday. Alaska will use Hawaiian Airlines widebody aircraft to make the trips.

Alaska will begin running daily trips between Seattle and Tokyo Narita on May 12 and introduce trips between Seattle and Seoul Incheon in October.

The new routes are part of Alaska’s plan to serve 12 international locations with nonstop flights out of Alaska’s Seattle hub by 2030.

“We believe our guests will be as excited as we are about these new nonstop flights to Tokyo and Seoul – two of the world’s most dynamic cities,” said Alaska Air Group CEO Ben Minicucci. “From our global gateway in Seattle, we can conveniently connect travelers from across our network as they head to Asia and beyond.”

Following the pandemic, the company said their route between Honolulu and Tokyo Narita has seen weakened demand, so in response, they repositioned one of Hawaiian Airlines’ widebody aircraft to Seattle. Alaska Air also plans to increase the number of trips between Hawaii and Tokyo Haneda – another international airport in Japan’s biggest city – from 12 to 14.

Through the partnership with Hawaiian Airlines, Alaska Air also plans to strengthen its domestic offerings between the mainland US and the Hawaiian Islands. There will be a 20% increase in seats in between Seattle to Honolulu and a 25% increase between Portland and Honolulu, according to the company. They are also adding new stops between San Francisco and Kona on the Hawai’i Island, and Līhu‘e on Kauaʻi.
