AN EX-airline worker has revealed the £5 travel item that solved “all luggage problems” when going through the airport.
This hack saved her daughter from potentially losing her luggage.
After decades of working as an airline employee, always on top of travel destination and luggage trends, one item has proved essential.
Wrapping an adjustable strap around your luggage can prevent it from popping open during a flight.
This can especially help people who are chronic overpackers or have items like carry-on-tote-bags which don’t have built-in straps.
In the case of the ex-airline employee’s daughter, she was off to New York and excited to use a carry-on tote – which wasn’t flight appropriate.
Luckily, her mum introduced her to adjustable straps, which can be bought for around £5 on Amazon.
Or $6 from Walmart should you be in the US (about £5).
Since learning such a trick, the ex-airline employee’s daughter revealed she prefers travelling with larger tote-bags.
Because they offer more space and prove more useful on holiday.
The adjustable straps tend to be made from durable nylon webbing.
Usually they have a sturdy buckle to keep items secure, even when the bag is checked.
The Walmart luggage belt also comes with an ID tag, helping you identify your luggage when it arrives at baggage claim.
Walmart shoppers agree with the convenience of this luggage strap.
Including one person who said it worked well on their carry-on during a trip to Europe and another who praised its durability.
Meanwhile Amazon shoppers praised a similar luggage strap for being “extremely well made.”
They said: “Really pleased with the quality, functionality and value for money.
“I use my bag for motorcycle journeys to work and have lost numerous Velcro straps as they are a bit of a faff to secure properly when time is tight. Really happy!”
Followed by a second: “My flight cushion has a handle on it, but no way of keeping it folded in half, so had to put it in a carrier bag when flying.
“I wanted a small luggage strap to keep it folded whilst checking in etc.

“These arrived today and work great. Sturdy little strap, even though its nots being used for anything heavy.
“Great size, just what I’ve been looking for.”
