Last week, LOT Polish Airlines and JetBlue announced a new codeshare partnership’s launch, expanding on an existing interline agreement. The new set of codeshares, which could begin as early as this peak winter travel season, could allow a variety of new options to open up for travelers.
As many will be excited to hear, the new agreement will provide new options for passengers to travel throughout both carriers’ networks on a singular ticket, greatly expanding ease of transportation across the North Atlantic from Poland. LOT and JetBlue have maintained an interline agreement since October 2022.
Benefits for LOT
Unsurprisingly, LOT is very excited about the expansion of this partnership, making the carrier’s services across the Atlantic more valuable. From the airline’s Polish hubs, passengers will now be able to access high-demand cities like Las Vegas and Orlando far more efficiently than they could before.
The new agreement makes LOT’s competitive offering across the North Atlantic far stronger than before. For those traveling to cities in the US beyond those served by LOT, it can be more efficient to take a connecting itinerary on a foreign carrier, such as British Airways or Air France, which can serve both destinations. But by connecting onto JetBlue, passengers can now have a far more efficient experience traveling to a variety of North American destinations on LOT.
Unsurprisingly, the carrier’s leadership team is very excited about this new opportunity. Robert Ludera, the Polish airline’s Network Director, had the following words to share in a statement regarding the new codeshare agreement:
“We are delighted to announce a codeshare agreement with jetBlue. This partnership means that LOT Polish Airlines is broadening the range of travel options for its customers between Poland and the US, using jetBlue’s extensive route network.”
Benefits for JetBlue
For JetBlue, the advantages of this partnership are also extensive. For passengers traveling across the Atlantic on LOT, JetBlue has now become the carrier of choice when connecting to other services within the United States.

Additionally, for those hoping to travel from Boston to Poland, JetBlue’s service to London or Paris, followed by an efficient connection on LOT, is now a very competitive option. Across the board, both carriers are able to become a more appealing choice for passengers through this codeshare agreement.
With JetBlue’s transatlantic operations expanding rapidly, partnerships like this LOT codeshare will be critical for the carrier’s expansion. Ultimately, the airline will need to continue making partnerships with major flag carriers in order to expand its global network.
