Hong Kong Airlines has officially announced its return to the long-haul international market, marking a significant milestone in its recovery and expansion strategy. The airline revealed plans to relaunch direct flights to Australia’s Gold Coast and Canada’s Vancouver in January 2025, providing enhanced connectivity for travelers across key destinations.

The direct service to the Gold Coast will commence on 17 January 2025, operating four times a week. This move aims to strengthen links between Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and Australia’s vibrant coastal destination, renowned for its beaches, theme parks, and tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong Airlines will also resume its Vancouver route on 18 January 2025, with flights scheduled twice weekly, catering to growing demand for travel between Hong Kong and Canada.

“The reinstatement of these routes reflects our confidence in the travel market and our commitment to reconnecting Hong Kong with the world,” a Hong Kong Airlines spokesperson stated. “We’re thrilled to offer more travel options to our passengers while supporting economic and cultural exchange between these regions.”

The relaunch of long-haul services comes as global travel rebounds, with Hong Kong Airlines positioning itself as a key player in the market’s recovery. The airline is expected to cater to both leisure and business travelers, with competitive services that include flexible scheduling and enhanced inflight experiences.

Tickets for both routes are expected to be available for booking soon. This development will likely draw strong interest from travelers seeking seamless journeys between Asia, Australia, and North America.
