Beyoncé and her partner Jay-Z are two of the most influential musicians in modern music. Together, they frequently travel the globe to attend yearly awards and concerts. Like most internationally famous popstars, they require a very complex logistics system, and the core element of this is the aircraft that will bring them and their staff to each location. Today, we will examine which private jet they have chosen.

A long-range, large jet: the Global 7500

JetSpy reported that Jay Z and Beyonce own a Global 7500, registered to MAV 4 LLC, reportedly owned by the couple. Looking at the Federal Aviation Administration’s publicly accessible registry, the registration for the aircraft associated with this limited liability corporation is N44440, a 2023-built jet equipped with two fuel-efficient Passport engines.

The Global aircraft is renowned for its smooth flights. Bombardier claims that the jets are equipped with the Smooth Flex Wing, designed to provide maximum control and agility at all speeds while offering the smoothest ride in the industry. The aircraft also features Bombardier Pũr Air, an advanced HEPA filter that captures up to 99.99% of allergens, bacteria, and viruses while completely replacing the cabin air with 100% fresh air in as little as 90 seconds. Finally, all seats onboard can effectively turn into “zero gravity seats,” making sure passengers barely feel pockets of air and can adopt a relaxing position, optimizing blood flow during long flights.

How far can it fly?

The Global 7500’s range is 7,700NM, and if it is based in New York, as the FAA suggests, it can quickly fly to major cities like London, Paris, São Paulo, and even Dubai. This is particularly useful when you consider the world tours the owners will be doing during their ownership of the jet. Once the jet lands in the Middle East, for instance, it can then easily continue on to cities like Perth or even Melbourne.

According to its online brochure, one of the plane’s unique features is how the seats are laid out in living spaces. At the front, a first mini-cabin near the door is where seats will be laid out in clubs of four. This is similar to a conference room and would typically be used for meetings. In the case of the two singers, this is most likely where they convene with their managers to discuss the status of their trips while en route.

Following this living space will be a coach-style seating with a large television. This area would typically be reserved for the VVIPs. The more relaxed layout is used for entertainment, which can be browsed on giant televisions. This is assumingly where Beyonce and Jay-Z would spend time during the day.

Finally, at the back of the jet, near the vertical stabilizer, is the main bedroom, strictly reserved for the VVIPs. It includes a queen-size bed.

According to the brochure, the fourth living space is the first. Still, we decided not to categorize it as such because the VIPs typically use the galley and crew room sparingly. However, having a dedicated place for the crew to rest is a nice touch, making sure they can deliver the best possible service and, thus, the most comfortable flight for the celebrities.

According to the Aircraft Cost Calculator and based on an estimated 450 annual owner-operated hours and a fuel cost of $6.00 per gallon, the total variable costs for operating the BOMBARDIER Global 7500 are calculated to be $2,342,250.00. What jets did Beyonce and Jay Z operate before this?

The singers have been seen on many different private jets over their careers. A quick internet search will reveal that Queen B was a frequent flier onboard, which appears to be a Gulfstream GV or G550; it is only possible to tell for sure when looking at the paparazzi photos online.

One YouTube video by TheRichest seems to indicate that Jay Z either owned or still owns a Challenger 850. This shows that he is familiar with the Canadian OEM. Of course, the 850 is a considerably older jet than the Global 7500 he reportedly owns now, but it fits in the same category. According to Globalair.com, it can carry 14 passengers and has a range of 3096 NM, covering most of the United States.

Note it is still being determined if he still owns the jet, as the video is a year old, and the new plane was also registered around that time.
