Data from Cirium, an aviation analytics company, shows that the flag carrier of Spain, Iberia, operates 850 flights to and from the US utilizing its Airbus widebody aircraft in June. Operating three different types of Airbus jets, the airline offers 256,110 seats, amounting to over 1.13 billion ASMs. Iberia’s current Airbus widebody fleet consists of:

  • 18 Airbus A330-200
  • 9 Airbus A330-300
  • 22 Airbus A350-900

Historically, the airline has also operated a large fleet of Airbus A340 aircraft across two variants: A340-300 (21 aircraft) and A340-600 (18 aircraft). Among several destinations in the US, Madrid to New York JFK is a common rotation that sees up to three flights a day. With an average fleet age of just under eight years, the carrier’s Airbus A330-200 and A330-300 (average age of 11.3 years) operate daily flights to New York.

Number four on our list is UK-based Virgin Atlantic, which operates 1,196 flights to and from the US utilizing its Airbus widebody aircraft this month. Operating three different types of Airbus jets, the airline offers 361,986 seats, amounting to over 1.42 billion ASMs. Known for its luxury cabin and a social lounge onboard its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, the current breakdown of Virgin’s Airbus widebody fleet looks like this:
