This analysis will take a closer look at the airlines operating the most international flights to and from DFW using data for July 2024 from the aviation analytics company Cirium.

124 scheduled flights in July 2024

Beginning our list is Doha-based Qatar Airways, with 124 scheduled flights to and from DFW airport in July 2024. The Middle Eastern offers 40,548 seats and covers 321 million available seat miles (ASMs) during the month of July.

One of Qatar Airways’ popular routes from Dallas Fort Worth Airport is to Doha Hamad International Airport (DOH). The airline operates two daily flights (QR 729 and QR 731) between these cities using its Airbus A350-1000 widebody aircraft. According to ch-aviation data, the airline has a fleet of 58 A350s, including 34 A350-900s and 24 A350-1000 widebodies.

This route is notable as one of the airline’s longest nonstop routes, following the Doha (DOH) to Auckland (AKL) route, which also takes approximately 15 to 15.5 hours.

The Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris is the fourth carrier on this list in terms of having the most international flights to and from DFW airport. The budget carrier has 126 scheduled flights to and from DFW in July 2024.

Dallas Fort Worth is relatively close to the Mexican border, making it a convenient airport for short-haul flights connecting both countries. Volaris operates six weekly flights (Y4 1801 and Y4 1805) between DFW and Guadalajara (GDL).

Another relatively popular route connecting Fort Worth is Volaris’ Mexico City (MEX) to DFW. The carrier operates five weekly flights (Y4 801) between the two destinations. The budget airline deploys either its fleet of Airbus A320s or Airbus A321s on this route.

Right in the middle is Air Canada with 186 scheduled flights to and from DFW airport in July 2024, as per Cirium data.

Despite having more scheduled flights, the flag carrier of Canada offers fewer seats compared to low-cost airline Volaris, just 25,482. This is because the carrier deploys its smaller-capacity Airbus A220 aircraft on the most popular routes to DFW rather than Airbus A320s or A321 narrowbodies.

Sun Country Airlines is the second budget carrier to make it onto the list of airlines operating the most international flights to and from DFW. In July 2024, this US-based ultra-low-cost carrier has 222 scheduled flights, offering 41,292 seats. According to Cirium calculations, the airline will cover 53 million ASMs.

Sun Country’s popular nonstop international destinations to and from DFW airport include those in Mexico and the Caribbean. The budget carrier operates 12 weekly flights (SY 512, SY 516, SY 518) between DFW and Cancun (CUN), utilizing its fleet of Boeing 737-800 narrowbodies. In addition to Cancun, the airline operates five weekly flights between DFW and Punta Cana (PUJ) in the Dominican Republic.

According to May 2024 data, the airline had 246 and 154 scheduled flights, respectively. For both routes, American Airlines uses a mix of Airbus A321s and Boeing 737 aircraft.

In addition to CUN and SJD, American Airlines frequently operates to Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) and Mexico City Airport (MEX).

Regarding transatlantic destinations, the carrier frequently serves London Heathrow Airport (LHR) from its main hub. In May 2024, the carrier had 124 scheduled flights to LHR. American Airlines typically deploys Boeing 777s, its largest airliner, for this route.
