Notably, the lounge also hosts passengers flying on several competing alliance carriers, including Air France, KLM, and Iberia.

Third-party programs, such as Priority Pass, Lounge Pass, Lounge Key, and Diners Club, are all accepted.

The lounge’s entrance includes a flight monitor and opens onto an expansive seating area overlooking the boarding gates. To the right is a luggage storage area, followed by a sleeping room with six recliners hidden behind a frosted glass door.

Flight Review: Copa Airlines Boeing 737-800 Inaugural Service From Raleigh/Durham To Panama City

The first flight from North Carolina to the Hub of the Americas was pleasant and swift, with minimal wait times on both ends of the journey.

In the center of the area is a large stocked bar with complimentary drinks. To the right of the food and buffet area is a soft drinks station with several soda machines, coffee makers, and an area for straws, sugar, and creamer.

The buffet was well laid out, with identical selections at each end of the island, allowing four people to get food simultaneously. The breakfast selection included a cereal station, an area for bread, a hot food area, and fresh-cut fruits with overnight oats.

There was plenty of room to sit and eat, and additional areas of the lounge could be opened as needed to meet capacity.

Additional amenities

The space also features several unique areas for relaxing. There is a designated children’s and family area and a media room with a large screen that displays four different channels simultaneously.

The lounge’s business and work area was exceptional. It featured a combination of cubical-style desks and private workstations, along with a computer and printer for any last-minute printing needs.

The bathroom area was well-appointed, with plenty of stalls set against a white marble backdrop. There were also six showers, which I was unable to photograph because they were closed for cleaning, but a peek inside the door revealed a bright and open space with multiple shower cabins.

Overall, the area provides a pleasant and spacious relaxing environment before a flight. For those departing from Terminal 1, there is another COPA lounge there, or one could walk across to Terminal 1 without exiting and reentering security.
