Aditya Kondawar, a Pune-based author, vowed never to fly with Air India or Air India Express after his recent experience with the airline from Bengaluru to Pune. In a post on X, Kondawar said he would rather take a “bullock cart” than an Air India flight, highlighting that the flight stank and the seats had stains. That the flight was delayed for over three hours only made the experience worse for the passenger.

“Dear @AirIndiaX, Thank you for teaching me a very valuable lesson last night. Never and I mean it with all seriousness – I am never flying Air India Express or Air India in my life again – I will pay 100% extra cost if needed but will take other airlines that are on time (only 2 other airline options anyways),” Kondawar wrote on X.

“Will take a bullock cart but not your airline. 950 pm Flight took off at 12.15/12.20 am – The flight was stinking and the seats were so dirty and full of stains (IX 974 BLR to Pune). Had started my day yesterday at 1.50 am from Pune to BLR – Walked through a large factory and sat through multiple management interactions,” he wrote.

“I have immense respect for the Tata group and their leaders – I expect perfection from them always and this is a disaster honestly speaking!” he added.

Responding to the post, Air India Express apologised to the author saying that the Bengaluru to Pune flight was delayed due to inevitable reasons. “Hi Aditya! We apologise for the inconvenience caused due to the disruption in your flight schedule. Please note that the incoming flight was delayed due to reasons beyond our control. We will look into the issue raised regarding your aircraft experience and will fix it.”

Recently, a passenger, who booked a business class seat for his office trip to Newark, shared his ‘horror story’ with the Tata-owned airlines. Slamming the poor management of the business class, he shared that he claimed that he was served uncooked food and stale fruits.
