Air India plans to offer business class and premium economy class travel to passengers, a first from an Indian carrier, on the Delhi-London route. Know features and launch date.

New Delhi: Tata Group-owned air carrier Air India said it will deploy Airbus A350s twice daily on the Delhi-London route offering a new flying experience to its passengers from September 1, 2024. Air India is currently flying the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on this route. The move is part of the airline’s decision to offer an upgraded flying experience to passengers, said the airline.

These new aircraft will offer the first class travel option to passengers on the Dlehi-London route flying Air India. The Tata Group air carrier is the only airline in India offering first-class travel between the two cities as well as between the UK and India, the TOI reported.

Air India is also planning to roll out the premium economy travel class on the Delhi-London Heathrow route on the Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 24 wide seats. These will be laid out in a 2-4-2 combination in a dedicated premium economy cabin, the airline said.

Air India will offer the following perks on its Airbus A350 flight to London from Delhi:

  • Customised chinaware
  • Customised tableware
  • Customised glassware
  • New bedding
  • New Ferragamo and TUMI amenity kits for business and premium economy class, respectively

The new aircraft deployment is a significant milestone for the airline, said Air India CEO Campbell Wilson. ” It demonstrates our commitment to elevating the travel experience of our guests to truly world-class standards,” he added. Travellers can book their seat on the A350 jet to London from Delhi on teh Air India website and app, or through their preferred travel agent.
