“This is not only a huge boost for the casual leisure traveler but more importantly it’s a huge boost for the business traveler,” said city councilman George Jebaily.

“Making those connections is critically important for getting the business traveler to use our Florence airport. When the pandemic came we lost a lot of our business travelers because of it, and we were on two flights a day. Adding flights gives us connectivity. That connection time narrows to the point that hopefully our business travelers will be able to use the Florence airport and because it’s competitive. The Florence rates are competitive.”

The Florence Chamber announced the expansion and urged local business leaders to take advantage of the new opportunity to encourage American Airlines to further improve flight service to the Pee Dee Region adding, “Using Florence Regional Airport delivers superb on-time performance along with the ease of close-in parking and faster passenger chick-in for your flight to Charlotte and then onto nearly any market in the world.”

Councilman Jebaily said four flights a day would be ideal. “We’re grateful to get this third one and people just have to use the airport. Go Flo!”
