Malaysia Airlines has announced it will resume direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Male’ starting August 1, 2024.

The first resumption flight of Malaysia Airlines is scheduled for the morning of the following month’s first.

The airline will be operating flights to the Maldives throughout the week, on all seven days, on its Boeing 737-Dash 8 aircraft with 174 seat capacity.

Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA) – the country’s primary air gateway – is gearing up to host a special welcoming ceremony for the first resumption flight of the airline.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Tourism, MACL, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), and Malaysia Airlines will be attending the welcoming ceremony.

The airline last operated in the Maldives in 2017.
