This is the first of a total of 13 A220-300 and two A220-100 aircraft ordered by Croatia Airlines. The new planes are expected to bring significant technological advancements, fuel savings, and reduced CO2 emissions compared to the current fleet. Once the fleet renewal is complete, the Croatian national carrier will operate exclusively with A220 aircraft.

The Airbus A220-300 has a seating capacity of 149, while the A220-100 can accommodate 127 passengers. The delivery of the second aircraft is expected by the end of the year, with six more arriving in 2025, four in 2026, and the final three in 2027, completing the order of 15 A220 aircraft.

At the reception for Croatia Airlines’ new flagship aircraft, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković emphasized the importance of the renewal project. “It is very important to us that the 18th most popular tourist destination in the world, which is Croatia, has its own airline,” Plenković stated to the media.
