Singapore Airlines is increasing capacity between Brisbane and Singapore, returning a fourth weekly service on the route this week.

Originally scheduled to start in November, the extra flights have been brought forward to commence on 4 August due to rising air travel demand.

With the extra service, travellers staying in, stopping over or just passing through the Lion City, now have more options.

In total, Singapore Airlines will operate 25 flights per week between the Queensland capital and Changi, enhancing connectivity and flexibility for travellers.

The new service, SQ266, will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, using SIA’s A350-900 medium-haul aircraft.

Following SIA’s supplementary flights during the 2023 summer peak season, the additional year-round capacity aims to boost Queensland’s post-COVID economic recovery.

The resumed flights are supported by Brisbane Airport and the Queensland Government’s Attracting Aviation Investment Fund (AAIF) and return as SIA celebrates four decades of service in Brisbane.

In April, Singapore Airlines (SIA) added another accolade to its list of achievements, winning the Roy Morgan Research International Airline of the Year at the annual Customer Satisfaction Awards for the fourth consecutive time.

This year, Singapore Airlines also updated its Premium Economy inflight experience for the first time since launching in 2015 with an expanded dining menu that includes a flute of French Champagne after take-off plus a new amenity kit from 31 March 2024.
