The normal scheduled flight time to cover the 1,946 miles from Atlanta to LAX is 4 hours and 40 minutes to 5 hours. The four airlines operating the route are Delta Air Lines

, American Airlines
, and Frontier Airlines
. The heavily-trafficked Atlanta (Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport) to Los Angeles (LAX) route is a

domestic route that regularly sees widebody aircraft.

Delta Air Lines flights from Atlanta to LAX

Given that Atlanta is the world’s busiest airport and is the primary Delta Air Line hub, it should come as no surprise that Delta Air Lines operates most of the flights from Atlanta to LAX. Of the 22,721 scheduled seats per week for October, Delta Air Lines is scheduled to contribute 17,254 of them.

Delta Air Lines serves the route with a diverse range of aircraft, including A321s, A321neos, A350-900s, Boeing 737-900s, Boeing 757-300s, and Boeing 767-300s. Delta is the only airline scheduled to operate widebody ( Airbus A350
, Boeing 757, and Boeing 767) aircraft on this route.

Delta is scheduled to have 80 operations on the route per week. A321s lead with 25 operations, followed by A321neos (14 operations) and Boeing 737-900s (13 operations).

Most of the aircraft on the route have a seating capacity of 190 to 234 seats – although the A350s have 339 and 306 seats (depending on the variant).

American Airlines is scheduled to operate seven weekly operations on the route, flying an A321. These aircraft have 190 seats per departure, for a total of 1,330 weekly seats. American Airlines manages to operate the popular route (unlike the two other major legacy US airlines – United Airlines and Southwest).

Frontier Airlines

Another airline offering nonstop flights from Atlanta to LAX is the ultra-low-cost Frontier Airlines. It is scheduled to operate an A320neo daily (for 7 weekly operations). With 186 seats per departure, Frontier Airlines contributes 1,302 seats on the route.

Frontier Airlines was founded in 1994 and now operates flights to 120 destinations
—mostly domestic but also some leisure routes in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America.

Spirit Airlines

The fourth airline operating from Atlanta to LAX is Spirit Airlines. It has two aircraft types on the route (A320neos and A321neos), both offering seven operations weekly. Together, they contribute 2,835 seats per week. Spirit is now the 7th largest US airline (as well as the largest ultra-low-cost North American airline) and focuses on domestic US flights with some flights to the Caribbean and Latin America.
