Brett Catlin, the vice president of loyalty, alliances, and sales of Alaska Airlines, added that the airline was proud to be STARLUX Airlines’ first partner and was excited about this chapter in the two carriers’ relationship.

“We look forward to inviting guests on board and delighting them with the premium experience and care that Alaska is known for across the industry.”

STARLUX’s United States network

The announcement pointed out that currently, the Taiwan
Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)-based carrier operates 31 routes, including a comprehensive network across Asia.

STARLUX Airlines’ network also covers three airports in the United States, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), Los Angeles International Airport
(LAX), and San Francisco International Airport
(SFO).

In October, the carrier has scheduled 17 weekly flights to the US: seven to Los Angeles, three to Seattle, and seven to San Francisco, according to schedule data from the aviation analytics company Cirium.

From December 22, STARLUX Airlines will add three more frequencies to Los Angeles, while from March 1, 2025, the carrier will operate daily flights from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA).

On all of its routes, STARLUX Airlines faces heavy competition. Three other airlines have scheduled flights from Taouyuan to Seattle and San Francisco, while two other Taiwanese carriers, namely China Airlines
and EVA Air
, have itineraries from the Taiwanese airport to Los Angeles.
