New Delhi: Former Indian women’s hockey team captain Rani Rampal lashed out at Indian airlines Air India following the damage of her suitcase in a recent international flight journey. The 29-year-old returned to India from her recent visit to Canada.

Upon her arrival to the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi on Saturday afternoon, Rani received the shocker on seeing her luggage bag broken. Taking the matter to her official X (formerly known as Twitter), Rani started with a sarcastic message before questioning the airlines for the damage.

“Thank you Air India for this wonderful surprise. This is how your staff treat our bags. On my way back from Canada to India this afternoon after landing in Delhi I found my bag broken.@airindia,” Rani wrote.

Airlines respond to Rani Rampal’s grievance

The X account of Air India in the comment section of Rani’s tweet ensured to look into the matter apart from issuing an unconditional apology. The airlines asked a few details to track the baggage.

“Dear Ms. Rampal, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please DM us your ticket details, bag tag number, and damage complaint number/DBR copy. We’ll take this up,” Air India wrote. 

Rani wrote to the airlines with a hope that that her concern would soon be resolved.

“Have shared my details over DM. Hope I will get a resolution,” she wrote.
