Families grappling with the aftermath of the disaster will receive a reprieve through this program, starting with a charter flight to California in July.

“The ability to travel is important to Hawai‘i residents—travel connects us. It has continuously afforded me the opportunity to travel to Maui to grieve with wildfire survivors and provide them support,” said Governor Josh Green “Yet the Maui CARE Flights program is about more than travel — it’s about healing. By giving our wildfire-impacted families opportunities to joyfully bond through these shared experiences together, we’re fostering recovery and resilience. This initiative, made possible by the generosity of Alaska Airlines and our partners, embodies the spirit of aloha and our commitment to supporting the well-being of our community.”

Partnering with Marriott and Disney, Alaska Airlines aims to provide families with flights, hotel accommodations, and Disney tickets.

Additionally, the airline commits to offering 180 round-trip tickets per month to any Alaska Airlines destination until the program’s conclusion in 2025.

According to Ben Minicucci, Alaska Airlines CEO, the airline plans to continue this support until the end of 2025, providing a monthly flight equivalent for approximately three thousand individuals.

This initiative aims to allow affected individuals to visit family, enjoy a vacation, or simply take a mental break from their recent challenges.
