Ultra-low-fare carrier Frontier Airlines began operating out of Denver on July 5, 1994, and has prided itself on serving as “Denver’s Hometown Airline” ever since. Over the past 30 years, it has operated more than 1.8 million flights and served nearly 200 million travelers from Denver International Airport and its predecessor. Today, the airline employs more than 7,000 people, driving economic growth and opportunity in Denver and its extensive and expanding network.

Celebration at DEN airport

During a ceremony at Denver Aiport, DEN CEO Phil Washington had this to say about the milestone.

“On behalf of the entire team at DEN, congratulations to Frontier Airlines on the occasion of your 30th anniversary,” .

“Over the past three decades Frontier has operated at DEN and has invested in a new maintenance facility and a 14-gate ground boarding facility that will be completed later this year. We thank Frontier for their continued partnership and their commitment to providing connectivity for Denver travelers.”

Frontier markets itself as ‘America’s Greenest Airline’ by operating an ultra-modern, highly fuel-efficient, all-Airbus fleet and flying lighter through various weight-saving initiatives. Frontier is 43% more fuel-efficient than other airlines. Additionally, its iconic plane tails feature unique and extraordinary animal species from throughout North America, many of which are threatened or endangered.

Barry Biffle, CEO of Frontier Airlines, had this to say about the carrier’s history with the Colorado city.

To celebrate its 30th birthday, Frontier offers a one-day sale with 30 routes from Denver International Airport for under $30*. Flights are available on select dates and must be booked by 9:59 p.m. MDT on July 5, 2024.

Fares must be purchased by 11:59 pm Eastern time on Jul. 5, 2024. Sale fares are valid for nonstop travel on Monday through Thursday, and Saturday, through Nov. 13, 2024. Except as noted: Travel to Las Vegas, NV, Sunday through Wednesday; travel from Las Vegas, NV, Tuesday through Friday; travel to Florida, Sunday through Wednesday; travel from Florida, Tuesday through Friday. Directionality between markets applies in both directions.

The following blackout dates apply: Aug. 29, 2024; Sep. 2-3, 2024; Oct. 10, 14-15, 2024; Nov. 7, 11-12, 2024. Not all markets are available for all travel dates. A 7-day advance purchase is required. A round-trip purchase is not required.
