SEATTLE — Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) welcomes the announcement of
five weekly nonstop flights to Copenhagen on Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) starting in
May 2025. SAS will operate seasonal summer flights to Denmark’s capital city.
Copenhagen offers travelers a world of culture, modern architecture, and a trailblazing
restaurant scene. This is the third international nonstop service announced to begin in
2025, following a record year of new services in 2024.

We’re very excited for our partnership with Scandinavian Airlines and for the nonstop
connection to the beautiful city of Copenhagen,” said Port of Seattle Aviation Managing
Director Lance Lyttle. “As a region, we share a lot of similarities with Copenhagen, from
prioritizing sustainability to world-class dining and entertainment. SEA will continue to
meet the demand for international travel and looks forward to welcoming SAS and our
European counterparts to the Pacific Northwest.

With strong historical ties to Scandinavia and the Nordic region, travelers out of SEA will
now have nonstop service to three Nordic capitals — Reykjavik, Helsinki, and
Copenhagen. Once in Copenhagen, travelers can easily take in the World Capital of
Architecture on two wheels. Copenhagen is ranked the most bike-friendly city in the
world and boasts a plethora of hidden gems to discover.

SAS previously served SEA for decades, dating back to the 1960s. SAS officially joined
the SkyTeam Airline Alliance earlier this month. This allows for even greater connections
on Delta Air Lines, also a member of the SkyTeam Airline Alliance. The first five weeks of
service will be on Airbus A350s (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun), followed by service on Airbus
A330s (Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun).

We are excited to expand our North American network with Seattle. The route from
Copenhagen will provide more travel options for our customers and strengthen the
connection between Scandinavia and the Pacific Northwest, a region of growing
economic importance with deep Scandinavian roots,” said Anko van der Werff,
President and CEO of SAS.

International service at SEA
SEA currently has 53 services to 33 international destinations on 27 different airlines.
Philippine Airlines will begin service to Manila in October, followed by Alaska Airlines
service to Liberia, Costa Rica, in December. Already this year, the airport has welcomed
STARLUX Airlines, China Airlines, and Delta Air Lines’ service to Taipei; Lufthansa’s
service to Munich, Germany; Hainan Airlines’ service to Chongqing, China; and Alaska
Airlines’ service to Toronto, Canada.
