Starting December 18, 2024, Turkish Airlines will introduce a new route between its hub in Istanbul and Santiago, Chile, marking its latest expansion in Latin America. The service will operate four times a week, with a stopover in São Paulo, Brazil, using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. With this new route, Turkish Airlines will serve a total of 10 countries in the Americas.

Santiago is the ninth Latin American city added to Turkish Airlines’ network, alongside Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Cancun, Mexico City, Caracas, Havana, Panama City, and São Paulo. This new connection directly links Istanbul and Santiago, further expanding the airline’s footprint in the region.

The decision to include a stop in São Paulo allows Turkish Airlines to serve two major markets on a single route efficiently, optimizing aircraft usage while opening up new revenue opportunities. Turkish Airlines may consider introducing nonstop flights between Istanbul and Santiago in the future depending on the demand.

This new service reflects Turkish Airlines’ strategic focus on growing its presence in Latin America, a region experiencing increased demand for both leisure and business travel from Europe and the Middle East.
