Chinese airline Sichuan Airlines has launched its cargo operations from its hub in Chengdu to Frankfurt. The airline will fly from Chengdu to Frankfurt four times a week on a scheduled service with its A330 freighter.

“We are delighted that Sichuan Airlines Cargo is expanding its cargo capacities between China and Europe and has chosen Frankfurt Airport for this,” says Roland Weil, Vice President Sales Cargo, Frankfurt Airport. “This strengthens Frankfurt’s position as the leading air freight location in Europe.”

Headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan Airlines operates hubs in Tianfu, Chongqing, Yunnan, Beijing, Zhejiang, Heilongjiang, Shanxi, Hainan, Xinjiang, Xichang, Tianjin, Shenzhen, Nanning, and other locations.

According to the airline’s data, it operates over 500 domestic and international routes, covering Asia, Europe, Oceania, North America, and Africa.

The airline operates exclusively Airbus wide- and narrow-body aircraft. Its cargo fleet includes six active aircraft, consisting of Airbus A330-300/P2F, A330-200F, and A321-200/P2F models.
