US carrier JetBlue and entertainment provider Peacock are taking their relationship to the next level. Several months after announcing that Peacock will be the exclusive streaming partner of JetBlue, the carrier has rolled out one of its aircraft in a brand-new paint job to celebrate the partnership.

What is the airplane?

Dubbed “This Peacock Can Fly,” the Airbus A320-200 has been with the airline for eleven years. The plane was briefly taken out of service to undergo a dramatic change from JetBlue’s typically bright livery. A video posted by the airline showed just how much went into creating this new look. Sections of the aircraft were marked according to the final colors, with the latest design taking inspiration from the colors in the Peacock logo (a derivative of owner NBC’s famous peacock design).

The fuselage was primarily painted black with “JetBlue” and “Peacock” left in white relief, followed by the colorful six dots of the latter company’s logo. The six dots theme is also continued down the belly of the aircraft to be clearly visible from below. The nose and bits of the tail have been painted in a bright yellow, and the wings remain in their original white.

The aircraft chosen for the project took its first flight in February 2012. It was delivered to JetBlue the following month and has flown for the carrier under the registration N796JB ever since. The plane was flown from New York to Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB) in Florida on Friday before being repositioned across down to Orlando International (MCO) on Sunday for a rotation to Washington National (DCA) the same day.

Eagle-eyed aviation enthusiasts can spot the aircraft today in Santo Domingo, Windsor Locks/Bradley, and Westchester.

Why Peacock?

The carrier announced it was partnering with Peacock previously. The agreement allows JetBlue passengers to watch over 100 Peacock original shows while in the air. Customers can also use the WiFi connection to stream Peacock’s full offerings from their own devices, including original series, live sports, movies, fan-favorite shows, and news.

The partnership is also set to extend even beyond the flight experience. For passengers not already Peacock members, The carrier is giving its “Mosaic” level members a free one-year subscription, and all TrueBlue members will also receive TrueBlue points for their subscriptions.
