More than 265 airports globally will see the Boeing 777 scheduled passenger flights in October. This includes the 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-200LR, 777-300, and 777-300ER. Some 180 airports will have at least one daily service, while a handful will have just one flight the entire month. More on these later.

The world’s leading airports

When all carriers, routes, airports, and aircraft variants are combined, the 777 will operate more than 56,000 flights in October, equivalent to 1,800+ daily. The table below summarizes the world’s top 10 airports for the aircraft family. Unsurprisingly, Dubai is first by a massive margin. It has 85% more departures than number two, London Heathrow.

The airport with the second-highest number of widebody flights, Dubai’s dominance is obviously because of Emirates, which accounts for more than nine in ten of the airport’s 777 services. Excluding freighters, ch-aviation shows that the carrier has 133 777-200LRs and 777-300ERs. It will use them to 111 destinations in October, including London Stansted and as far away as Mexico City (via Barcelona).

Airports with just one 777 flight in October

They include Berlin, which will see a Turkish Airlines 777-300ER on October 18th. It will arrive in Germany at 18:00 and leave for Europe’s busiest airport at 19:30 to feed the carrier’s massive amount of long-haul flights after midnight. Berlin regularly sees Turkish’s various widebodies.

There’s also Garuda Indonesia from Banda Aceh back to Jakarta on October 6th. Having arrived early in the morning from Medina, bringing back pilgrims, the 777-300ER will leave for the capital at 08:35.

Cincinnati also has one passenger 777 flight that month. While British Airways inaugurated London Heathrow to Cincinnati in June, the five-weekly service presently uses the 787-8. However, it will switch to the 777-200ER on October 30th, which will also help with more freight

Then there’s San Jose, Costa Rica, with BA resuming the winter-seasonal route on October 31st. Of course, Cincinnati and San Jose would be different if November was examined instead, as they are not one-offs in the usual sense. The 777 just appears at the end of the month.
