India’s low-cost carrier, IndiGo, has launched new flights between Jaipur in Rajasthan and Agra in Uttar Pradesh from October 29. The capital of the state of Rajasthan and Agra share strong cultural and economic ties. The new daily flights operated by the largest airline in the country will further strengthen the ties while promoting both business and leisure travel between the two major cities.


Connecting the two tourist-friendly destinations

IndiGo is set to connect two of the most popular tourist destinations in India. The city of Agra is famous for the Taj Mahal, the marble mausoleum on the bank of the Yamuna River. The mausoleum is also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over India and overseas visit the city each year to immerse in the historic Mughal legacy. Jaipur is a popular tourist destination for its historic architecture and sightseeing activities. The two cities are part of the Golden Triangle of the tourist circuit, including Delhi.

The announcement is in line with recent developmental initiatives in Agra, including the expansion of the Agra Airport (AGR). With an already strong domestic market share, IndiGo further enhances passenger connectivity between the two populous destinations.

The Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, Vinay Malhotra, shares his excitement during the press release by stating,
