Aircraft seating specialist RECARO has revealed images of new passenger seats it has agreed to supply LOT Polish Airlines for its long-haul fleet. The agreement covers over 2,000 seats to be supplied before 2030.

RECARO Aircraft Seating has been selected as the exclusive seat supplier to LOT Polish Airlines (LOT) as it prepares to refresh the long-haul product on its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

The agreement between the companies will see the Polish carrier install RECARO seats in the business class, premium class, and economy class cabins on selected 787s.
The carrier has selected the RECARO CL6720 for its business class passengers, while those in premium economy will be seated in RECARO’s PL3530 seat.

The economy class cabin on the refurbished Dreamliners will be fitted with the seating manufacturer’s CL3810 product.
New seats are on their way
The delivery of more than 2,000 new passenger seats to LOT is scheduled to commence in Q3 of 2026 and be complete by the end of 2030. The agreement for the new seating marks the first time that Germany-based RECARO will partner with LOT on a widebody project.
Additionally, the new economy class seats will be produced at the RECARO manufacturing facility based in Świebodzin, Poland.
Announcing the agreement for the supply of the new seats to LOT, Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating, said,

In addition to our production facility in Poland building the economy class seat, this is an especially exciting milestone for our award-winning business class product.”
Further details on the new seats
According to RECARO, its CL6720 business class seat is designed to offer passengers “a luxurious and comfortable travel experience.“
The company claims the seat’s spacious design, premium amenities, and ergonomic features ensure travelers can relax and unwind throughout their journey.

The company adds that the sleek aesthetics of the CL6720 are designed to complement any cabin interior, while its lightweight structure contributes to fuel efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Moving into the premium economy cabin, the PL3530 is described as including cutting-edge features and a unique design. The PL3530 will offer premium economy passengers ergonomic cushioning, adjustable recline, and an intuitive control panel.

Passengers can also stay connected with integrated entertainment options and USB charging ports throughout their LOT flight.
Lastly, the needs of LOT economy long-haul passengers have not been overlooked. The CL3810 seat is described as being designed with “meticulous attention to detail. “

LOT economy class passengers can enjoy spacious seating with ample legroom, a six-way adjustable headrest, lumbar support, and recline options up to six inches, ensuring a comfortable experience on long-haul flights.

More good news for LOT
The announcement of new seating for eight of its Boeing 787 fleet comes amid a positive run of news for the Polish carrier. In July, Simple Flying reported that the airline reported an operating profit of $28 million for 2022 and flies around 10 million passengers annually.
Meanwhile, in June, we reported that LOT came in as Europe’s second most punctual airline, with 88.68% of departures leaving on time.

The Warsaw-based airline, founded in 1929, currently operates a fleet of 76 aircraft, according to ch-aviation.com. The carrier’s current long-haul fleet comprises eight Boeing 787-8s and seven 787-9s.
The 787-8s seat 252 passengers in a three-class configuration – 18 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 213 in economy class. Meanwhile, its 787-9s accommodate 294 passengers – 24 in business, 21 in premium economy, and 249 in economy.
Long-haul expansion
The airline has seen rapid expansion of its long-haul network since the end of the pandemic. The carrier has operated 60 weekly flights from Polish airports to North American destinations this summer.

The airline also added non-stop flights between Wrocław and Seoul Incheon in July. This coming winter, LOT will operate services to eight Asian airports – Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Delhi, Mumbai, Nur-Sultan, Tokyo Narita, Seoul Incheon, and Tashkent.
