CHARLOTTE, N.C. – American Airlines will be expanding its services by providing travelers with more frequent options to fly to Mexico, Costa Rica and more.

American Airlines will introduce a new, nonstop service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Tulum, Mexico that will begin on March 28th, 2024. The flights will soar once daily year-round, the airline said. The service will be flown on a Boeing 737 aircraft that offers high-speed Wi-Fi, in-seat power and streaming entertainment, the airline said.

Additionally, the airline will increase its flights to Barbados, Costa Rica and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

American Airlines say flights to Bridgetown, Barbados and Liberia, Costa Rica will move to a daily service while services to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands will now have two daily flights. This change will take place starting June 5th, 2024.

This announcement comes one week after the airline launched a record-breaking winter international schedule from Charlotte. Previously, American Airlines announced the only nonstop service from North Carolina to British Columbia last month.
