South American Airlines are letting Swifties rebook flights at no cost after Taylor Swift was forced to postpone the second Buenos Aires show on the Latin American leg of her Eras Tour.
“I love a rain show but I’m never going to endanger my fans or my fellow performers and crew,” Swift wrote in an Instagram Story on Friday. “We’ve rescheduled tonight’s Buenos Aires show for Sunday due to the weather being so truly chaotic it would be unsafe to try and put on this concert. Good news is I get to stay in Argentina later!”
Her fans get to stay in Argentina too, as Sky Airline, Jet Smart Argentina and LATAM Airlines, South America’s largest carrier, all announced Saturday that they would waive flight-change fees for anyone affected by the rescheduled concert date.
“#AttentionSwifties: we know your plans changed so starting today we are updating our flexibility policy for those who had flights scheduled from Buenos Aires” for Saturday or Sunday, LATAM wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Airlines routinely add extra flights for big events, but industry executives tell CNBC that waiving change fees for a postponed concert is highly unusual – a sign of Swift’s singular power to drive bookings.
After the postponement on Friday, Swift was joined by Travis Kelce, who jetted down to Buenos Aires to support his superstar love interest. The couple was spotted at a hotel and enjoying a cozy dinner date together in the South American capital.
At her sold-out show in Argentina on Saturday, the “Blank Space” singer changed “Karma” lyrics for the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and greeted him with a kiss after her performance.
