Abelo and ATR finalized a deal for 20 ATR 72-600 aircraft at Dubai Airshow 2023. This includes a confirmed order for 10 aircraft and an option for 10 more.
“In ATR aircraft, we have discovered the ideal solution to support Abelo’s mission of connecting communities and businesses in an economically and environmentally responsible manner,” Steve Gorman, the Chief Executive Officer of Abelo, commented in a press release.
During the last Farnborough Airshow in July 2022, the Irish-based regional aircraft leasing platform already ordered 10 ATR 72-600 and 10 ATR 42-600S (Short Take-Off and Landing).
The first ATR ordered in 2022 will be delivered to Abelo by the end of 2023, with the rest scheduled between 2026 and 2028.
According to its most recent market forecast, ATR anticipates demand for a minimum of 2,450 new turboprop aircraft in the next two decades. Currently, these aircraft constitute approximately 40% of the regional passenger fleet.
