A UNITED Airlines plane has been forced to make an emergency landing following a suspected bomb scare.
The jet was heading to Vancouver, Canada when it had to divert to San Francisco on Monday.
A passenger reportedly announced the threat on the plane, according to a San Francisco airport official.
United has revealed that 148 passengers and eight crew members were on board the UA 1909 flight.
Flight map data revealed it had almost made Oregon after taking off from Los Angeles before it was forced to divert its route, per the ABC affiliate KABC.
The plane had been in the air for less than two hours before it was forced to make the emergency landing, per FlightAware.
Officials examined the threat and revealed it was low, so the plane was able to land at an airport terminal.
Cops are speaking to passengers on board the plane as part of their probe.
Sandeep Sall, who was on board the aircraft, told KABC that passengers were told that the plane would be doing an emergency landing.
But, he claimed they were not told the location where it would take place.
He said: “We’re on the tarmac and they came on and said they’re waiting for the air marshals.”
Bosses at United have confirmed they’re working to get passengers to Vancouver as soon as possible.
