Condor is rapidly expanding its partnerships and its network capacity. It was only a few weeks ago that Condor and Alaska Airlines announced an expansion to their codeshare partnership to include more than 70 routes throughout the United States. The two airlines’ partnership dates back to 2017. Now, an interline agreement with Gulf carrier Emirates has been activated.

Dubai Airshow has been a busy event for several airlines, specifically for Emirates, which ordered 90 Boeing 777X aircraft and increased its 787 Dreamliner order from 30 to 35 planes. Today, the Gulf giant and German leisure carrier put pen to paper and activated their interline agreement, which includes 70 routes. In addition to the interline agreement, the two carriers also signed a frequent flyer program agreement. This will allow Emirates Skywards passengers traveling on all Condor flights to earn miles.

The breakdown of mileage earnings is as follows:

  • up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown on Economy Class
  • up to 1.25 Skywards Miles per mile flown in Economy Premium Class
  • up to 2.15 Skywards Miles per mile flown in Business Class

Through the interline agreement, Condor passengers can fly on Emirates flights between Frankfurt and Dubai, and another 12 destinations in Emirates’ network. These destinations include Auckland, Bangkok, Male, Muscat and Mauritius. The connectivity is greater in the opposite direction, with Emirates passengers able to connect to 57 destinations in Condor’s network.

Emirates passengers will be able to take advantage of routes from Condor’s four German gateways in Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, and Munich. Destinations available through the agreement include Malaga, Ibiza, Cancun, and Havana.

Emirates’ and Condor’s operations

According to Cirium, Emirates is operating flights to four German cities this month: Dusseldorf, Munich, Frankfurt, and Hamburg. In total, the Gulf carrier has 540 flights scheduled in both directions. The busiest of the four routes is Dubai-Frankfurt, with three daily flights operated by the Airbus A380s and Boeing 777-300ERs. Two daily flights are on the Boeing widebody, and one is on the A380, totaling more than 74,000 seats in both directions.

Dusseldorf also sees service from both aircraft types mentioned above, with one daily flight on each. To Hamburg, Emirates sends the 777s, and to Munich, it sends the A380s. In total, almost 240,000 seats are available between Germany and Dubai.

Condor has nearly 2,000 flights scheduled in November, operating in Europe and to several leisure destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. Its new ‘flagship’ Airbus A330neos, which were chosen to replace the aging Boeing 767s, are deployed on routes like Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), Tobago (Trinidad & Tobago), and more.

Three hundred eighty-seven of the nearly 2,000 flights are operated by the Airbus A330-900 (A330neo), of which Condor now has ten of the 18 it ordered. These A330neos will take the place of nine Boeing 757s and six 767s.
