Ready to start Hustlin’? Rapper Rick Ross is seeking a new cabin crew member for his iconic black and gold RICK RO$$ jet.
In a video posted to his Instagram story earlier this week, Ross, the stage name of William Leonard Roberts II, opened up applications for a role onboard his private Gulfstream G550. If you’ve got flight attendant experience and a positive vibe, then Ross is looking for you.
I need me a professional and an amazing cabin attendant. I am looking for you. I can’t wait to find you.
According to the rapper, Maybach Air is offering a salary of between $85,000 to $115,000; however, any interested party needs to be able to prepare and serve food, handle a cabin with multiple guests, and be CPR trained due to the rapper’s medical history with seizures.
“Serious inquiries only”
Alongside general professional experience, Ross wants someone with a positive vibe who is keen to travel the world and serious about working alongside him and his team.
Let’s be about our business. Let’s be professional… Serious vibes only. Serious inquiries only.
Despite its generous pay package, the role of a private jet cabin crew member can be a demanding position, requiring high levels of professionalism and discretion, especially when working with VIP and celebrity clients. Speaking to The Washington Post, flight attendant Elizabeth Simpson cautioned that while the lifestyle may be exciting, cabin crew members on private aircraft are essentially estate managers, with in-flight dining requirements likely to change on short notice. Simpson added,
“They might have something extravagant in mind. If he wants to have a hibachi-themed dinner, you’re going to have to go to YouTube or TikTok to learn how to hibachi real quick because he’s trying to impress his clients.”
Taking a flight on Maybach Airlines
Ross, an experienced industry veteran, has been a fixture of the hip-hop scene since the launch of his debut single, Hustlin’, in 2006. His successful music career and business ventures have clearly given the rapper a taste for the finer things; Ross boasts a collection of over 100 cars, including an exclusive Maybach 57S, reportedly worth nearly $1 million, and a sprawling 45,000 square-foot mansion in Fayetteville, Georgia.
The G550, registered N676AS, was purchased by the rapper in April and features a custom livery designed by Duncan Aviation. Known by Ross as “Maybach Airlines,” in reference to his record label Maybach Music Group, the 12-year-old private jet was rolled out across his social media in June. In one post on Instagram, Ross’ jet can be seen parked next to former President Donald Trump’s private Boeing 757-200 (N757AF), captioned “Billionaires Row.”
It remains unclear how much Ross purchased the jet for, with the rapper joking it was a “$5 billion play,” however, similar aircraft can typically sell for up to $20 million.
Powered by two Rolls-Royce engines, the luxurious jet holds the capacity for up to 19 passengers, dependent on configuration, and features a maximum range of 7,770 miles. The aircraft has proven popular with celebrities and VIPs; G550 owners include tech mogul Elon Musk, Ruper Murdoch, Mark Cuban, and Tiger Woods.
