Mangaluru: The Udupi quadruple murder accused has been derostered from the airline he was employed with. Sources from the airline have confirmed the development.
The police, on Wednesday, arrested a 39-year-old senior cabin crew member employed with an airline company in connection with the four murders that shocked residents of Tripti Layout. The accused Praveen Arun Chougule is currently in police custody.He was reportedly brought to Mangaluru as part of the probe. SP Arun K said, “Weapon and other materials used during the time of offence were recovered on Friday and Saturday.”
Sources said that the police have collected the statements of the cab drivers and others who were on airport pickup and drop duty of the accused and Ainaz, one of the victims who was also a cabin crew attendant.
Meanwhile, the family members of the victims met the SP Arun K on Saturday and thanked the department for a quick probe into the case. It may be recalled that four of a family, a mother and three children, were allegedly brutally murdered in Tripti Layout of Nejar. The deceased are Haseena, 46, and her children Afnan, 23, Ainaz, 21, and Aaseem, 12. Meanwhile, Hajira, 70, mother-in-law of Haseena, who was also at the home, was injured and rushed to the hospital. She was discharged on Monday.

The motive for the murder is still unknown, but the police believe it was not a robbery as no property is missing from the house. Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the suspect.
