This Thanksgiving travel season is on track to be the busiest yet – more than 5.9 million people are expected to fly on United Airlines alone between Nov. 17-29. Here with more is Nicole Carriere, a representative of United Airlines. “Today I am going to share what travelers can expect at the busy airport this Thanksgiving and holiday season” says Carriere. She adds “you don’t have to be a frequent flier to enjoy a smooth holiday travel experience.”

Sunday, Nov. 26 will be the busiest day to fly – with more than half a million people expected to travel. According to United Airlines more travelers are getting an early start on their holiday by flying earlier in the week. Data shows demand for flights the Monday before Thanksgiving is up nearly 10% compared to 2019, while demand for flights the day before Thanksgiving is only up about 3%. United will fly more than 3,900 flights per day during the Thanksgiving holiday; that’s about three flights every minute! So it’s important to be prepared.

“We encouraged travelers to download the United Airline App” says Carriere. Some airlines even have rolled out new technology features to skip long lines, check bags in less than two minutes and video chat live with a customer service agent. “United Airlines Bag drop shortcut allows the traveler to save precious time” says Carriere..  Travelers are also getting “on board” with a new United boarding process called WILMA (windows, middle, aisle) designed to save up to two minutes of boarding time on average per flight. “We know time is valuable so we are doing everything we can to maximize your travel time” says Carriere. Don’t let this holiday travel season catch you unprepared. For more information visit United.com.
