Seoul-based Korean Air and Rome-based ITA Airways have announced that they have reached an agreement to commence a reciprocal codeshare. Under the arrangement, each carrier’s flight prefix code will be displayed on certain flights operated by the other partner.

The flights included under the agreement’s terms will provide seamless ticketing and connections for ITA Airways passengers traveling from Rome (FCO) and Milan (MXP) Airports in Italy to Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN) and onwards to six destinations in Korea and beyond. Although operated by Korean Air, these flights will carry the Italian carrier’s AZ flight prefix code.

Likewise, Korean Air passengers will be able to book a single ticket through Korean Air to travel to Italy and fly onwards on ITA Airways flights across Europe. These flights will also carry the Korean Air prefix code of KE.

The codeshare agreement commences on November 21, 2023.
