The US-based low-cost airline Avelo Airlines disclosed that it topped the US airline industry in operational reliability for April 2024. The airline secured the top position for on-time performance and boasted the lowest flight cancelation rate among all US carriers.
88.6% of Avelo’s flights arrived on time
According to the results provided by Anuvu, Avelo Airlines maintained an on-time performance, with 88.6% of its flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time in April 2024, surpassing the industry’s average of 80.1%. Commenting on the positive performance in April, Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy said:
“Nothing is more important to our Customers than getting them where they want to go, on time, and with their bags. Since Avelo’s debut three years ago, we have been providing our Customers with some of the industry’s highest levels of operational reliability.”

In addition, the budget airline had the lowest flight cancelation rate among all US carriers in April 2024, with 0% of its flights canceled. This means that Avelo Airlines operated all 1,371 scheduled flights last month, even during the busy spring break travel period. Commenting on the airline’s performance, Levy added:
“April’s #1 on-time performance ranking and lowest flight cancelation rate are the latest validation of the relentless operational discipline and Customer-focused teamwork our 1,000 Avelo Crewmembers bring to every flight.”
Avelo’s route network
Avelo Airlines commenced its inaugural flight on April 28, 2021. Over the course of three years, the airline has significantly expanded its route network. Since taking flight in 2021, the budget carrier has flown more than 4.5 million passengers on more than 36,000 flights.
Operating with a fleet of 16 Boeing 737-800s, the airline extends its services to 52 destinations in 23 states across the US and Puerto Rico.

This also includes its six primary bases located at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), Southern Connecticut’s Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN), Orlando International Airport (MCO), Wilmington Airport (ILG) serving the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region, Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU), and the most recent addition of a base at Bay Area’s Sonoma County Airport (STS), launched in May 2024.
In its latest network expansion announcement on May 9, 2024, the airline introduced two new nonstop routes between Upstate’s Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), as well as New York’s Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). This makes the airline the first to offer nonstop service between these destinations and the Upstate of South Carolina.
Avelo will operate these routes twice weekly. The GSP to MHT route will run on Mondays and Fridays, while the GSP to ROC route will run on Thursdays and Sundays.
