The President of Gulfstream, Mark Burns, spoke about the new EASA type certificate. Burns stated,

“The Gulfstream team is proud to add EASA to our growing G700 certification accomplishments. During the flight test program, we took the G700 across the globe, and the response to the aircraft’s cabin size, flexibility, and performance has been outstanding. This EASA certification unlocks G700 deliveries for many more of our international customers, and we are excited to see our next-generation fleet grow around the world.”

About the Gulfstream G700

As previously mentioned, the Gulfstream G700 achieved its FAA type certificate in late March, allowing Gulfstream to introduce the business jet into service in late April. The introduction of the G700 signaled a new leader in the range of business jets. The G700 can fly an incredible 7,750 nautical miles (8,919 miles). This surpassed the jet’s original goal of reaching 7,500 nautical miles (8,630 miles). With the business jet’s recent certification, the G700 surpassed the Bombardier Global 7500’s range of 7,700 nautical miles (8,861 miles).

Beyond an ultra-long-range, the Gulfstream G700 has the following performance specifications:

During flight testing and the development of the aircraft, Gulfstream announced several other performance improvements beyond initial estimated specifications. The G700 can take off on runways that are just below 5,995 feet long, and it can land on runways that are 3,150 feet long. These were both improvements to initial estimates.

Beyond its impressive performance as an ultra-long-range business jet, the G700 has one of the best cabins in its class. The G700 has the following cabin measurements:

  • Cabin length: 56 feet eleven inches
  • Cabin height: six feet three inches
  • Cabin width: eight feet two inches

The long fuselage allows for twenty panoramic windows. It also allows 19 total passengers and can sleep 10 passengers in a sleeping configuration.
