Today, United Airlines debuted limited edition Wrexham AFC amenity kits and pajamas that premium passengers will be able to enjoy on select international flights of the Chicago-based carrier. This complimentary offering celebrates the airline’s sponsorship of the Welsh soccer club.
Growing opportunities
It has been over a month since Wrexham AFC was promoted to League One of the English Football League. The Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney-owned team has gone from strength to strength in the last few years, which has been well documented in the FX series Welcome to Wrexham. Just three weeks after the latest season of the documentary aired, United has made another revelation regarding the club, unveiling limited edition onboard amenity kits and pajamas, marking the special relationship between the two companies.
Last summer, United proudly shared that it became the front-of-shirt sponsor for Wrexham. With the soccer club owned by two North American figures and United having a strong transatlantic presence, it was a natural choice for the airline to seek an opportunity and be part of the club’s impressive rise through the ranks since the takeover in November 2020.

Exploring the range
All in all, United has managed to uphold a touch of class with its Wrexham amenity kits despite the sporty nature of the initiative. The minimalist yet vibrant cases and pouches proudly sport Wrexham’s colors and crests, with each bag representing the home, away, and third shirts of the team.

They all include an eye mask, socks, ear plugs, bamboo toothbrush, and toothpaste. They are also packed with Therabody skincare products, with a new range from the company introduced last fall. Passengers will find an exclusive hand cream, lip balm and cleansing towelette in these kits.

United also provides pajamas on flights 14 hours or longer. Those on these services will be treated with sleek long-sleeve pajamas resembling Wrexham’s home shirt.

The Director of Onboard Product Design at United, Peter Wolkowski, shared the following about the move in a company statement:
“With our amenity kits, we always aim to provide customers with products that make their travel journey more comfortable as well as create one-of-a-kind keepsakes for them to enjoy well beyond their flight. Wrexham’s story is one that has been documented and celebrated these last few years, so we’re thrilled to now give United customers team-branded gear they won’t be able to find anywhere else.”

Optimizing partnerships
United is no stranger to experimenting with its amenity kits. In 2019, Simple Flying experienced a special Star Wars product, with the flight socks still part of our collection today! United matched this kit by painting one of its Boeing 737s in a distinct Star Wars livery.
